Sorry for the blog delay. Looking back over the past few months, I've missed blogging a lot of our final Amsterdam adventures. So, for posterity sake, here they are.
Our last week in Amsterdam we were visited for a week by our dear friends, Ryan and Qui Moede. It was a crazy time to have company, what with all the stuff with the baby, Matt's mom still in town to help us out, and packing and cleaning to prepare to leave. It ended up being such a blessing to have them there - not just to be able to spend time with them, but to have a distraction from everything else and to just be able to celebrate being with good friends. Calvin loved them too ... although he did call Ryan "Papa" all week after having three Grandpa's visit ... he was a little confused.
We also FINALLY got out on a boat in the Amsterdam canals, courtesy of our good friends, John and Natalie. It was a blast to eat good food and cruise the sweet little canals of Amsterdam ... it was a fun way to say goodbye to the city.

And last, but not least, our first and only participation in the HUGE Queen's Day celebration that takes place every April 30th in Amsterdam. This was crazy makings. I've never seen ANYTHING like it. The city was flooded with dutch people, all happily dressed in orange and celebrating their country. It was loud, but not destructive. But man, it was quite a sight to witness. Ironically, it was also the one and only 80 degree sunshiney day we had in like, 3 months of rain. So everyone was happy to be out and about! Here's Calvin, taking it all in.
The canals were PACKED with boats.
We also rented a car one day to check out some little villages around the Netherlands. One of the places we stopped was down south by Rotterdam and had a cool line-up of old windmills.
And, of course, spring means tulips! We visited the Keukenhof Gardens, famous for all their tulips!
And here's what Matt did during his month away from us ;).
